In addition to supporting and networking with existing local sports and cultural organizations, in preparation for national and international activities, through its website, newsletter, and e-mail distribution.

Team New York serves as a tri-state area resource network for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) athletes and artists, sports and cultural organizations and supporters. Team New York fosters personal growth, self-esteem, and confidence by facilitating participation in national and international athletic and cultural events.

Team New York works cooperatively with Out of Bounds NYC in support of LGBT athletic events and competitions that take place in the greater New York City area.

Team New York shares a database of local athletes with Out of Bounds NYC, to facilitate the distribution of information and improve networking resources for its members. The New York City Gay Hockey Association (NYCGHA) is New York's first official gay hockey organization. We provide an environment free of harassment and discrimination for members and friends of the LGBT community to play ice hockey and fulfill their athletic aspirations.

They are currently right in the middle of their Fall 2007 Season. Games are Friday or Saturday nights and this season runs through early March 2008. If you'd considering the idea of playing hockey, now's the time to contact them. They'll let you know what your options are and how you can join!

Ice hockey isn't as violent as seen in the NHL. You won't lose teeth and you won't get nailed to the boards. All hockey at Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers is NO-CHECK.

Make new friends! Stay in shape!
